About Us

Welcome to Bridger Institute and thanks for taking the time to check out our website. Larry and Julie Keyes, founded  Bridger Institute over 30 years ago in the Bridger/Teton Wilderness of  Wyoming’s Wind River Mountains. Larry began his outdoor education programs upon returning home from the military and the Vietnam War. Our schools, classes and workshops are conducted in Northwest Montana near Glacier National Park, Northwest Wyoming near Yellowstone National Park and the Wind River Mountain Range. We chose these locations for our programs because of the vast amount of wilderness area, abundant wildlife and because these areas are among the most beautiful and historic locations in the country.

We have conducted a variety of outdoor programs in the Rocky Mountains for over forty years. For many of those years we conducted wilderness hunting guide schools for different outfitters in Montana and Wyoming. Our focus is on the student and the quality of our programs.  Our passion is teaching outdoor skills to those who truly want to learn. We believe that we are the best at what we do and will continue to strive for that goal for as long as we are in operation.
